Join your humanist friends for Christopher Nolan's new epic film version of The Odyssey. We are going to the 2:35 pm showing at the Citadel Mall Stadium 16 Theater on Sunday, August 2nd.

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey brings Homer's timeless epic to the big screen in a sweeping adventure that follows Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home after the Trojan War. Along his perilous voyage, he and his companions face vengeful gods, legendary monsters, impossible temptations, and life-or-death trials that test both their courage and their humanity. Starring Matt Damon as Odysseus alongside an all-star cast, Nolan's adaptation combines large-scale spectacle with an intimate story of perseverance, loyalty, and the enduring desire to find one's way home. Whether you're a longtime fan of Greek mythology or simply enjoy ambitious filmmaking, The Odyssey promises an epic cinematic experience and plenty to discuss afterward. The film is 3 hours so be prepared.

You can use the link below to purchase tickets. Tickets are assigned seating. Sit wherever you like, but we encourage you to check the comments below to see which seats your SHL friends have purchased, and buy seats next to them, in front of them, behind them, near them… then post your seat choice back in the comments.

After the movie those who wish will be going to dinner at Zen Asian Fusion, located near the theater at 2037 Sam Rittenberg Blvd in West Ashley, for drinks, food and to discuss the film. If you don't want to attend the showing, feel free to join us to discuss the film afterwards. We should get there a little around 5:45 pm, depending on the number of commercials and previews. If you want to reach out to me ahead of time, I'd be happy to text you when we leave the theater. Please just let me know so I can try to get a big enough table.
