Labor Day BBQ to benefit My Sister's House

Celebrate Labor Day with Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry! Leah and Jon are opening their home in Moncks Corner for an afternoon BBQ with our humanist community.
We’ll start gathering at 3:00 p.m., with food around 4:00–4:30 p.m. We’ll have hamburgers, vegetarian options, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, chips, and more.
BYOB. If you’d like to bring a dessert to share, you’re welcome to do so. Seating is limited, so please bring a folding chair if you have one.
BRING A DONATION FOR MY SISTER’S HOUSE
My Sister’s House is SHL’s current Charity of the Quarter, and we’re using our Labor Day gathering as an opportunity to help stock some of the supplies they urgently need. We’ll have a donation collection box at the party.
Current priority needs include:
- Toilet paper and paper towels
- Laundry detergent/pods and dryer sheets
- Pantry foods and snacks
- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and women’s razors
- Baby wipes and Pampers sizes 1 and 3
- Gas, Target, CVS, and Walmart gift cards
Please bring an item or gift card if you are able. It’s an easy way for each of us to contribute a little and, collectively, make a meaningful donation to an organization doing important work in our community. You can also donate money using our Zeffy link.

Come hungry, bring a chair and a donation, and spend Labor Day with your humanist friends!
Parking: This is a residential neighborhood. Please park on the street. We are reserving the driveway for members with mobility/accessibility needs. We recommend parking past the house, on the left side of the road starting at the large mailbox. Lots of room there.
