SHL SNAP Back at Hunger Packing Party

On October 3rd, the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry will hold a SNAP Back at Hunger Packing Party at the Johns Island Library. Volunteers will help to pack 680 bags- 340 meals with recipes and 340 family snack packs.

We will pack bags to deliver to Title 1 schools with simple recipes for families in need, and no cook options for unhoused people that we will use to stock local blessing boxes.

We will need volunteers to do the packing, and donations to buy the food (since we are packing for specific recipes, any food donations will be used to stock blessing boxes. You can sign up to volunteer here or donate toward the food purchases here.

There is something for everyone to do. We need packers, replenishers, labelers, and quality checkers. We could also use some help with set-up and breakdown.

This is a family-friendly event! We’ll have a kindness card station where kids can color and make kindness cards to our needy families.

We’ll meet from 11-1 at the library, and hand sanitizer, packing supplies and food items will be provided. We’ll also have snacks and music to keep your energy up for this important task!
