Join your humanist friends for a looney romp to see Coyote vs. Acme. We are going to the 3:35 pm showing at the Citadel Mall Stadium 16 Theater on Sunday, September 6th.
Coyote vs. Acme brings the classic Looney Tunes rivalry into the real world with a clever mix of live action and animation. Inspired by a satirical 1990 New Yorker article, the film follows Wile E. Coyote as he finally decides he has had enough of Acme products spectacularly failing him and hires a down-on-his-luck attorney to sue the company. Starring Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, the irreverent courtroom comedy turns decades of cartoon mayhem into a story about friendship, corporate power, and one coyote’s quest for justice. The movie’s own journey proved nearly as improbable: despite being completed, it was shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery, prompting an unusually vocal backlash from filmmakers and fans. After years in limbo, the film was ultimately rescued and has been released—giving audiences the chance to see the movie they fought to save.

After the movie those who wish will be going to dinner at Chef Loon Dim Sum located at 1662 Savannah Hwy in West Ashley, for drinks, food and to discuss the film. If you don't want to attend the showing, feel free to join us to discuss the film afterwards. We should get there some time between 5:30 and 5:45, depending on the number of commercials and previews.
