I'll help you find the "coolest" characters that represent you. Granville Fit Club Monday

Come join our Fit Club and our mission of helping the local community keep fit, get moving and stay connected! We are running fitness sessions twice a week on Monday and Wednesday 6.30PM in an all-inclusive environment. No judgement, all fitness levels are welcome. It’s a fun 45-minute session where you can unwind after a busy day, have a tea/ cold drink before the class and a nutritious smoothie after, mix and mingle with others, make new friends and feel amazing!

Classic 35mm Monochrome Film Street Photography Bondi Junction

Some people like vinyl records, they appreciate the richness of sound and tone. Today is about reconnecting with old street photography techniques by using 35mm film. Experiment with black and white film which has contrast and a bit of grain. Try it out. We will look for opportunities in the plaza outside Bondi Junction Westfields, here we may see a variety of people going about their business. Dig out your old film camera if you have one or buy a disposable film camera. The cost of a disposable camera will probably less than your lunch. Process your film with Camera House, Digi direct or Super 8 at Newtown. These stores will have disposable cameras or if they don’t sell them, they will refer you to a store that does. A roll of 36 exposures costs around $ 20 to develop your negatives and scan. A limit of 2 rolls of 36 exposures will apply for the day. These retail stores will process your negatives and scan them. Once they are scanned they a sent to your email. If you have Lightroom or Photoshop, you can then edit the images and post on Sydney Street Photographers Meetup site. Film choice is a personal issue however I would recommend Kodak Tri x 400 or Ilford HP 5 for street photography. If you prefer street portraits, I find Ilford Delta 100 very pleasing. It has finer grain and smooth’s out any imperfections in the subject’s skin. For street photography, I would suggest 50mm or a 35mm lens. Street Portraiture 50mm or 85mm. If you choose street photography as the challenge of the day. It would be a good idea to find your spot and wait for the subject to enter your frame. You may find this method more rewarding than chasing a subject for a photo. The idea is to capture a moment, a scene, something that may tell a story. It is not easy and it will be more challenging than using a digital camera. That’s the point of this exercise, to try something new and experiment with a new medium of photography. Join in and give it a try. Afterwards we may like to go to Level 5, Westfields Food Court for a selection of food and drinks. Cheers Ian.

Life drawing has long been a foundational practice of classical art and is regarded as the best way to learn to draw the human form. However, most life drawing classes focus on static poses without intention or meaning. These are great for learning human anatomy, but what do they tell you about the character? Teaming up with our talented life models, you will learn traditional life drawing techniques with a focus on capturing models with props, armour, and costumes in fantastical and story driven poses. **In this class, you will:** * Be guided through a fantasy-themed life drawing class with a costumed model * Learn figure drawing techniques * Gain an understanding of human anatomy and how it interacts with a variety of materials * Learn how to effectively pose characters to convey meaning and story **What to bring:** * Your preferred paper and drawing materials, but basic materials are available if needed. * Your awesome self. Come along to our **May meetup for the Sydney Nature Journal Club**. This is a chance to connect, spend some time in nature and journal together. I will offer some guidance to start. After we can share journal pages and ideas. **What to bring:** Bring along sketchbooks/paper and your favourite drawing materials (pens, pencils, watercolour, acrylic, anything you have).
