**Event description** Join us for a scenic and adventurous hike starting at Sothease station, winding through the peaceful South Downs, and uncovering the hidden hamlet of Telscombe, tucked away from time and crowds. We’ll continue on to Peace Haven cliffs, and onto Peace Haven meridean line, then striking coastline toward Newhaven, where cliffs, sea views and a super long pier reward the journey before the pub. I have recently joined a company working with Americans living in the UK and want to learn more about this unique cohort of people and maybe even share some of my knowledge of the UK (well, London really) with you, having been born and bred here. \*\*\*\*\*being a past American is not required\*\*\*\*\* 🚴‍♂️ 🚴‍♂️ 🚴‍♂️ 🚴‍♂️ Join me for a leisurely ride around Richmond Park \- All cycling abilities welcome \- All cycle types welcome \( I might boo hoo you if you have an electric bike\!\!\) \- 1 lap is about 10km and takes about 30 minutes\. We can do intermediate loops too that are slightly easier depending on ability\. Rules (I will keep them simple) \- Helmets are must \- no exceptions \- I recommend lights especially when the evenings get dark\. I have my lights on all the time\. \- We will try and cycle in pairs so that we can socialise \- All of the route is on tarmac\. North London’s Green Corridor: Highgate, Hampstead and Ally Pally fireworks

Join us for an interesting, varied walk through North London’s historic leafy trails, culminating near Alexandra Palace, where we can stay for a glimpse of one of London’s finest November firework displays. Starting in Finsbury Park, we’ll pick up London’s longest linear nature reserve, following a former railway line and passing a folklore-inspired sculpture that has become its unofficial guardian. We’ll climb through Highgate, with its attractive village streets and famous cemetery, before reaching Parliament Hill for views across London to St Paul’s, the Shard and Westminster. We’ll cross the ponds, meadows and woodland of Hampstead Heath to Kenwood House, the elegant neoclassical villa that is home to the Iveagh Bequest and paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer. We’ll finish by passing through Highgate Wood, a 70-acre section of the ancient Hornsey Wood, before heading towards Alexandra Palace for a well-earned drink or two and the option to stick around for the fireworks later. **NB** The event does not include entry into the official firework venue. From these high points we enjoy sweeping views across the Vale of Aldbury and the rolling Chiltern countryside. Midway we reach **Ivinghoe Beacon**, a striking hilltop once used for signalling beacons and now a superb viewpoint across the region. It has featured in TV classics like The Avengers and The Saint. From here, the **147m-long White Lion** chalk carving at Whipsnade can be seen across the valley, etched into the hillside and visible for miles. The trail then continues through the **Ashridge Estate**, former seat of the Dukes of Bridgewater, where we pass the 33m **Bridgewater Monument** built in 1832.
