Intermediate Spanish Classes (In-Person)

**In this class, we will explore the Spanish language through 8 modules. We will be speaking from Day 1, and covering concepts which assume you have a basic understanding.** **The goal is that by the end of the series, you should be able to engage in simple and structured conversations. This is useful for dating, business trips and getting around a Spanish-speaking country.** **Weekly homework is required and active participation is also required of all participants. The classes are a 4-part series, and all 4 classes are mandatory to attend.** **Note that these classes are not free.** Classes will be held in-person at Mississauga Valley Community Centre from 6:40pm to 7:40pm weekly. **Important: you must have the ability to speak in Spanish with proper pronunciation.** \- Most instruction throughout this series will be in Spanish\. \- A DoGood Spanish Beginner Class is a recommended prerequisite\. \- However\, if you can engage in basic conversational Spanish\, we will welcome you\! Frequently Asked Questions: **Do the classes have a cost?** Yes, classes have a reasonable cost and can be paid through eventbrite.com or in cash. **What should I bring?** A water bottle, snack, notebook and pen, and a Spanish-speaker mindset. We encourage participants to only speak Spanish during class. **Is free parking available?** Yes, the Community Centre has ample parking, and is very accessible by transit. **Can I bring my kids?** Absolutely not, this is an adult class. The themes are fast-paced and we want all participants to feel comfortable. We can make exceptions for teenagers who are well-versed in Spanish. **What if I miss a class?** It is recommended that you attend all four (4) classes in the series. We can make a rare exception and offer a paid, Zoom class, for extreme circumstances.

Salmons are expected to be swimming upstream. An annual upward migration. We will spend some time to watch at a few spots and then continue with our walk and return back to the starting point. Muskoka cranberry plunge + Hardy Lake

This is one for the Gram. We'll be heading Northbound to the Muskoka area for a fun day out in the beautiful Fall color season. We'll start the day by visiting Gravenhurst which is a town in the Muskoka region, here you will have free time to grab some brunch. After that, we'll head over to the Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery for a popular Fall time activity. You'll be given some chest waders so you can sink into the water surrounded by millions of Cranberries - it's a great way to get those awesome images. After the farm, we'll make a quick stop at a local brewery, followed by Hardy Lake Provincial Park. This small Provincial Park in Muskoka is a must do for those who like hiking. While there are many trails, we'll head on the biggest and best around Hardy Lake which will serve up some good snaps. We'll gage the groups ability and pick the most suitable hike for the day. Salmon make their way upstream through the **Humber River**, battling rapids and leaping through the water as they return to freshwater to spawn. And yes — you can actually see them doing it. Join us for a relaxed, social walk along the Humber River during salmon run season. We'll spend about 30 minutes by the river watching for salmon before continuing along the trail toward **James Gardens**. This isn't a difficult hike. It's a chance to get outside, enjoy the fall scenery, see something you might not normally experience in the city, and spend some time with other people along the way. ✨ **Fun Fact:** Some salmon travel more than 3,000 km from the Atlantic Ocean to reach freshwater rivers like the Humber. After all that distance, they still have to battle rapids and leap over obstacles to reach their spawning grounds.
