How exciting is it to design your first home? You get to personalize it, and make it a perfect fit for your lifestyle. Just like that, you can also create a business application to suit your users’ needs. A grand design to connect them to the business vision.
But what if your business application was put together based on decision makers’ egos? What if they did not understand their end users’ needs and your app development team decided to stay silent? Despite best intentions for your grand design, it all goes wrong. So, you are stuck in endless retrospectives, tech debt in your future sprints, and some very disappointed stakeholders.
In this session, let us take you through a tour in our digital app dollhouse where things have gone all sorts of wrong for users. From low adoption, to jargon-filled custom fields, to inconsistent process flows and anything in between, we are here to explain it all. A cautionary tale for all your business application projects. Remember, all good things to those who wait.

19:10-19:50 - Adaptive Cards + SharePoint Lists + PowerAutomate + PowerApps = On Boarding Process - Alaa Bitar
In this session I will guide you through creating a fully automated On Boarding process using a PowerApp to trigger and check the status of the instances of your on boarding process. Then in SharePoint lists you will define the different tasks of your On Boarding process and finally a Power Automate flow that will send adaptive cards in emails so that every person involved in your On Boarding process will take action directly from their inbox witch the right information needed for every step.

Users nowadays expect Apps that not only run Bug Free ! but which are also performant. Performance and Acceptance go hand in hand, in this session I will cover:
- Different data sources and their impact on Performance
- Understanding how data flows from the source to your apps
- Good Design Practices
- Performance monitoring tools (App Checker, Developer Tools, Power Apps Monitor, Azure Application Insights)

Angeliki Patsiavou, Senior Change Management Consultant, Avanade, UK
Angeliki is an experienced Change Manager with a passion for user experience in business applications. Whilst others speak about tech evangelism, she advocates about the human impact of technology into transforming businesses. She can often be seen highlighting the importance of human-centered design in CRM systems and get into interesting debates about how technical and non-technical teams can come together to define what matters.
Having a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics with a keen interest in Behavioral Economics, she started her career working on various CRM systems’ operations from a digital marketing and sales perspective. More recently, as a Change Manager, she enjoys being involved in innovative transformation programs which aim to redefine operations from a user's perspective using real-time data and client feedback. Her diverse background in financial services, bookmaking and CRM operations across Change Management, Marketing Strategy and Commercial Planning turned her into a digital chameleon transforming the way businesses, technology and clients interact.
Outside of work, she enjoys song writing and singing, along with martial arts and travelling around the world.
