Enjoy a walk-and-talk with DeAnn to learn about the geographic history, fossils, and native plants of Middle Georgia. DeAnn is a friend and former classmate of mine who is knowledgeable in these subjects and enjoys sharing that knowledge with others.
We will meet at the pin drop noted in the location section, and explore that area.
Walking could be on dusty or muddy ground (depending on weather), and some driving will be on unpaved roads.
Recommended items to bring are plenty of water and snacks. The areas we will be in will not have a lot of shade, so bring sunscreen or a hat if you wish. A magnifying glass would also be helpful for looking at any fossils we find.
We hope to see some interesting fossils, but take only pictures. Fossils must be left behind.
EDITED: The second location has been omitted from the itinerary. It requires a hunting or fishing license to visit.
