The Arabia Mountain Trail Nature center has parking and portalet toilets.
6-8 mile hike.

Don't forget bug spray, sunscreen, hat, water, snacks and lunch to eat in the park after.

Dogs ok on 6' leash.

If you have to cancel, please try to do so the night before or ASAP cuz we look for everyone before we start the hike.

Campout at Indian Springs. I have rented a campsite 18-21 Oct. (Friday-Monday). We can have up to 6 people per campsite. I will have a pop up camper and my van for my site.
Please let me know if you are interested in using my pop up camper.

Several other campsites are still available for the weekend.

Campground has flushing toilets and hot showers.
Food will be on your own but sharing is always nice.

ACTIVITIES
We will be joining the Flint River Astronomy club on the dam for stargazing Friday night.
We will be hiking, kayaking, etc during the weekend and we will setup separate events on our meetup event page.

We will meet at the Stone Building near the water well and restrooms. This is the north parking lot. Follow the pin drop in the map and it will take you to where we are . The hike will be 7 miles round trip. The parking fee is $5. ( State Park passes in their office -- come earlier if you plan to get one.)
Afterwards join us for happy hour at Yahola Creek restaurant. optional.

Don't forget to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, walking poles if you need them.
Dogs on 6' leash ok.

Don't forget to take yourself off the RSVP if your plans change.

This will be a two-part hike for those who want to go at 9:00 a.m. and go up the mountain and back down.

Meet at the restrooms at the base of the mountain by the parking lot. We're going to allow an hour plus for that and at 10:30AM meet anyone else who would like to hike the 5 mile Cherokee Trail around the base of the mountain starting at 10:30.

Parking is $20 if you go in the Stone Mountain Park. You may find some street parking a quarter a mile away and walk in possibly.

If you're only doing the 10:30 hike you can sign up for that one it's the next one I will post. Please take yourself off of RSVP if you cannot make it. Dogs allowed on Cherokee Trail only.
