Yum cha is a social gathering as much as a time to share dim sum. Skip breakfast and come hungry to Nani, in West Madison. Yum cha, literally means 'drink tea', in the Cantonese tradition. We will share small plates. You may learn more about this tradition in this BBC article.

Please order 2-3 dim sum small plates or one entree plate from the menu, not to exceed $18.99 in total for food. Order one drink, not to exceed $7 (which will cover beer, a glass of house wine, or non-alcoholic drink.) The dim sum menu is huge, and the $18.99 food limit means you can avail yourself of most entrees on the menu excluding duck and seafood. The restaurant will add a gratuity, and we will SPLIT THE BILL EVENLY to accommodate the restaurant. Please do not ask for cocktails or other exceptions which would complicate bill-splitting. I am estimating a cost of approximately $31 per person, with food, drink and tip included. If you feel you ate less than $31 worth, please think of it as your investment in meeting new friends and new taste sensations! See PHOTOS BELOW for the full menu.

Please keep your RSVP up to date. Those who "no show" deny another person a chance to sit at the table. Sign-ups will not be taken after noon February 8th.

Cheryl, your host, normally does not do dining events, but she had dim sum here at Nani on par with what she used to enjoy in Washington DC. Here's hoping this event is every bit as delicious.
