Gilbert and Sullivan Songs with Coffee or Wine afterwards -for Women Age 50+
Details
Enjoy free beloved songs from Gilbert and Sullivan performed by Madison's Savoyards, in the lovely sanctuary of Grace Episcopal Church on the Square. Come downtown for the farmer's market and then join this musical Meetup event inside the church at noon. Afterwards, we can go to Barriques or The Post afterwards, for coffee or wine, based on interest. It's really busy on Saturday market days, so coming by bus is recommended. If you're not an opera buff, give this a try. Gilbert and Sullivan songs are tuneful and delightfully comic, and this event will feature crowd favorites.
The Madison Savoyards have been presenting full stage theatrical productions of G&S since 1963. Here's a chance to see them at no cost through the Grace Presents program. The interior of Grace Episcopal Church is filled with warm hardwoods, and is an acoustical treat. This welcoming church is a gift to the community, providing services for the hungry, unhoused, ill and lonely. It's building is an architectural treasure of downtown Madison. This event is a way to chat with other women who enjoy light opera, and learn more about Grace church, its musical "Grace Presents" program, and the Savoyards. After this, you might want to by tickets for their upcoming events.
An ADA accessible entrance is available. Come through into the courtyard, and an elevator is just inside the entrance to your right.
