What we’re about
Madison isn't all young adults, some of us are over 50, but young at heart! If you live on or near the isthmus, are over 50, and are seeking new friendships, join us. We'll meet primarily between 10am - 5pm, with some events in early evenings. Are you retired? still working from home? caregiving for a spouse and need an outing? new to the area? looking for friends to meet up with to enjoy the farmers markets, trips to the library, music on the terrace, lectures, walks to galleries? recovering from an injury and need to get back into your groove? Join this group of locals in Madison WI. Meetings are held downtown more often, but we also plan activities on both East and West sides. If we meet in a coffee shop or restaurant consider buying a drink or appetizer.
Inactivity: Members who have not even visited the group's page to peruse events within the last 4 months will be removed from the group, so that the list reflects a headcount of active women. This helps your host in managing group events. If a person is inactive, they can rejoin the group at any time!

330 N Orchard St, Madison, Wi, USInterested in innovation and start-ups? Wonder how new ventures get funded and which ones succeed? Listen to Dr. Adhira Sunkara (an NSF award-winning female startup founder in the ag-tech sector) talk about her personal entrepreneurial experiences plus her state-level work in building public-private partnerships across Wisconsin for hundreds of startups and small businesses. She is joined by UW Professor Jon Eckhardt from the School of Business and former Legg Mason fixed income analyst. You may bring a friend, spouse or partner, as this is an evening event. Sign up for your free tickets. Afterwards, we can share a drink at the Library Cafe across the street, for those interested.
Gather at 6:45PM inside the 3rd floor ORCHARD VIEW lecture room. Cheryl will have a MEETUP sign visible so you can find her. Arrive on time, as it's challenging to hold seats in a lecture hall. This event is ideal for those interested in technical innovation, starting a small business in emerging technologies, and acquiring funding. If you have "retired" from these concerns yourself, come learn about what our children and our younger friends face as they work to bring their ideas to the marketplace. Ideal for women interested in business development, survival and success in this competitive fast-moving world.
YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS FREE EVENT. PLEASE PRINT OUT OR STORE YOUR FREE E-TICKETS

If you wish to share a drink afterwards, Cheryl will walk you back to your garage from the Library Cafe, if you arrived by car. Otherwise, using the bus is recommended. If it becomes very icy out, Cheryl may cancel this event. Please watch this page, and ensure your MEETUP notifications are set to ON.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo - at the Overture
Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State Street, Madison, WI, USEnjoy comic ballet by the all-male Les Ballets Trockadero at the Overture. Socialize with drinks before the concert and afterwards. Best known for presenting their lovingly-satirical takes on the tropes of classical ballet repertory, these versatile dancers layer slapstick humor with technical chops resulting in performances that simultaneously celebrate and skewer the ballets that aficionados thought they knew. Afterwards, we can go over the State Street, and have a post-drink at the Cask & Ale or other nearby venue, if there is interest.
If you are using the bus to arrive, your host will walk with you to the State Street bus stop, and wait with you until your departing bus picks you up. Please do not let the later hour deter you.9 attendees
