This meetup will be focused on talking about the Bitcoin SV blockchain and working on bringing adoption to the Madison area. Satoshi Nakamoto invented the first peer to peer electronic cash system that doesn't rely on a trusted third party, and we will work to bring digital cash to the Madison area.
This meetup is not focused generally on blockchain related projects, but only Bitcoin SV.
Bitcoin SV is a product of a contentious hardfork from Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Cash was forked from the original Bitcoin chain on August 1st, 2017 and is marked by the ticker BCH on most exchanges. Bitcoin SV arose out of conflicting roadmaps for Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin SV is committed to locking down the base protocol with the original v0.1 protocol introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto. Because this was always the root of my interest when supporting Bitcoin Cash, I have decided to shift my efforts to supporting Bitcoin SV.

When Bitcoin was first introduced in Madison there were pioneering individuals that worked to get businesses around town to accept Bitcoin and allow it to be spent. My hope is that we can bring enough regular business to bars in town and convince them to let us spend our Bitcoin SV in exchange for beer and food.
