What we’re about
We're building a waitlist to join our large, compassionate community of fellow hiking enthusiasts who find delight in discovering gorgeous trails and peaceful creatures; following fireflies; touching (some) treasured plants; soaking up the sweet smells, sounds, and sights of the luscious forests, lovely lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, prairies, wetlands, ephemeral wildflowers, and other flora, fauna, and geographical features; and tasting delectable, succulent, fresh, local produce at restaurants, cooperatives (co-ops), and farmers markets throughout southern Wisconsin and the Midwest.
We host hikes with 2 groups that share our policies:
Madison/Midwest Animal and Plant Lovers (now Madison Creative Compassionate Millennials)
Madison Millennial+ IRL Nature Lover Social (now Southern Wisconsin 20s-40s Compassionate Hikers)
All adults 21+ and skill levels are welcome, if you agree with and uphold our polices:
1. A group pic with your face and a profile name must be clearly visible and are required to join.
2. Members may be removed from the group at any time without notice, e.g., after 3 RSVP no-shows.
3. In creating and fostering community, striving to keep the group together on hikes whenever it is practicable, we ensure no member is left behind and anyone who needs help is assisted.
4. Ask for consent, e.g., let members know you want to take pictures of the group.
5. We are intersectional LGBTQIA+ allies with zero tolerance for bigotry/misogyny; nonallies will be asked to leave and permanently banned from all our groups.
