Join us for our third annual Halloween meeting of the Madison Classic Literature Book Club!
We'll be meeting at the Memorial Union Stiftskeller for a discussion of Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Masque of the Red Death."
Please read the story before the meeting. The story is off copyright, which means you can easily find it for free on the internet. The library should also have it their anthologies of Poe's work.
A variety of food and drinks will be available for purchase at the Union.
The Stiftskeller is on the ground floor of the Memorial Union, next to the Rathskeller.
There is a men's hockey game at the Kohl Center that evening and it's Halloween on a Saturday night, so give yourself extra time to find parking.
Depending on what's going on at the Union that evening with music, etc. it's possible we will have to relocate to a quieter part of the building. If this becomes necessary, we will try to post an update on the Meetup app. To be sure you don't miss us, it is recommended to show up at or before the 6:00 pm start time.
Wearing Halloween costumes is encouraged. If you're not in costume, you may be asked to buy a pitcher of beer for the group!
