ABOUT
NOTE: This workshop is an intentional space for women and nonbinary participants. We host various workshops throughout the year and invite all community members to join us for our other upcoming events.

Are you ready to build your public speaking skills in a fun and empowering environment? Join us for our hands on lightning talk workshop in Room 302 @ Madison Public Library - Central.

We’ll start with an introduction to lightning talks including tips and tricks for creating one. Then we’ll dive into a working session where you’ll brainstorm and draft your own lightning talk. Mentors will be on hand to provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the process. Finally we’ll present our drafts to a group of supportive peers and gain valuable experience in public speaking, all in a welcoming and encouraging setting.

No prior public speaking experience is needed. While the content will be focused on technical talks, you can speak about any topic you are passionate about–you are “technical enough”.

SCHEDULE

Feel free to arrive anytime between 6:00 and 6:15pm; presentation will begin at 6:15pm.
