This activity is recommended for individuals with a good level of physical fitness and some hiking experience. It may not be suitable for beginners or those new to hiking.
To ensure a positive group experience, we kindly ask that all participants come with a cooperative and respectful attitude. If you prefer solo activities or have difficulty with group settings, this event may not be the best fit.
🌙 Night Hiking Experience
Join us for an unforgettable evening hike as we make our way from Navacerrada Pueblo into the beautiful Valle de la Barranca. We’ll follow one of Madrid’s most scenic trails, enjoying the city lights by night and panoramic views from the Mirador de las Canchas.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hike Information
This is a medium-difficulty hike, approximately 14 km long with an elevation gain of 450 meters. The hike will take around 6 hours to complete.
The trail is a combination of single-track paths and wider forest trails, with a few steep and slippery sections, so proper hiking / sports shoes with nice grip are strongly recommended.
We will start in Navacerrada town and make our way into the Valle de la Barranca, eventually joining the Senda Ortiz—widely considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Madrid.
🛌 Rest Time:
Once we reach the high point of the hike, we’ll have 2 to 3 hours for rest or light sleep under the stars. Please bring a sheet or light cover to stay warm and comfortable.
🚌 Transportation:
- Departure from Madrid: Friday evening at 9:15 PM
- Return to Madrid: Saturday morning around 6:15 AM (by bus)

🚌 By Bus:
We will meet at the Moncloa Underground Bus Station, at Isla 2, Dársena 21, to take Bus 691.
- Meeting time: 9:10 PM
- Bus departure: 9:30 PM sharp
💶 Bus Fare:
- To Navacerrada: €5.10
- Return to Madrid: €7.00 (we'll take the express bus to return earlier)
Please bring exact change or a €5 or €10 bill for the bus driver.
🎫 Discounts:
- The bus is free with the Abono Joven
- Reduced fare applies if you have a regional Abono (outside Madrid city center)
🚗 By Car:
You’re also welcome to join us by driving your own car.
Please meet us in Navacerrada town, where we’ll be arriving by bus at approximately 10:40 PM.
📍 Meeting Point in Navacerrada:
Paseo de los Españoles (Casa de la Cultura) — this is where our bus will stop.

🧴 Essentials:
- Water (at least 1.5L): Make sure to bring enough water or drinks to stay hydrated.
- Snacks or light food for the hike and rest break.
🧥 Clothing & Gear:
- A warm jersey or jacket for when temperatures drop.
- A torch or headlamp (required for night hiking).
- Long trousers and a long-sleeve shirt for protection against mosquitoes and brush.
- Anti-mosquito spray.
- Hiking shoes or sturdy shoes with good grip.

All our events are accessible by public transportation from Madrid for your convenience.
