Terrain

The walk will take us down to the river edge as well as up hillside woodland, so there are inclinations to consider and short pauses will be taken wherever necessary. If there has been a recent rainfall then there will be the likelihood of some muddy patches. Walkers are therefore advised to wear appropriate footwear and clothing to suit the prevailing weather conditions.
Getting there and back

We meet at 9.45am at Waterloo station underneath the central clock to catch the 10.24am train to Dorking. The walk will start at 11.02 from leatherhead Train Station (Main Entrance) and end at Denbies Vineyard.

Dorking (Main) and Dorking Deepdene train stations are a short walk from the vineyard. Both are served by London Waterloo and London Victoria, with some trains travelling direct, whilst others can include a change at Epsom.

The Leatherhead and Dorking stations are just outside the Oyster Card Zone, so card holders travelling from London will need to purchase a single extension ticket from Epsom (Zone 9) to Leatherhead, and a single extension from Dorking (Main) to Epsom for the return journey. Holders of the 60+ Oyster Card must purchase extensions from and to Ewell West (Zone 6) if travelling from Waterloo or Cheam (Zone 5) if travelling from Victoria. Extensions can be purchased online at any time prior to travelling.
