Kick-Off/ Welcome Ride from West Social (Everyone Invited)

Details
We are going to try this again for Saturday May 10th. The weather currently looks pretty good, even if it might be a bit cool at the start of the ride.
To kick off the riding season, the Major Taylor Cycling Club of Dayton invites everyone (members and non-members) to join us for our social, kickoff ride on Saturday May 10th at 9:15 AM. This will depart from and return to West Social (1100 W Third St, 45402). Ride departure will be at 9:30 AM with approximately 2 hours of riding. Please arrive by 9:15 to prep your bike, check in, and introduce yourself.
There will be three groups for this ride:
- D-pace (9-11 mph) covering about 15 miles total;
- C-pace (12-14 mph) covering about 25 miles total;
- A/B-pace (16-18 mph) covering about 34 miles total.
The C and D rides will be primarily on the trail, however, a short road ride is required to reach the trail. The A/B ride will be a mix of road and trails and is for experienced riders. All rides will be no-drop rides and will stop occasionally to regroup as needed.
After the ride, we some of the club members plans to stick around West Social to socialize and talk cycling. West Social has a Saturday brunch that runs from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, as well as several other restaurants (http://www.westsocialtapandtable.com).
- What to bring: HELMET (required), a jolly attitude, weather appropriate clothing (wind or light rain), water bottle(s), riding snack, and lights front (optional) and rear (recommended). Also be sure to check your bike prior to or upon arrival – ABCD (Air, Brakes, Chain, Drivetrain). Parking is available on the streets near W. Social.
We hope that you will join us to get the riding season off to a great start.
