For you men out there, this is an opportunity to absorb this experience and for future reference...taco dates are a good way of doing something different than the usual drink social scene many women are used to.

Within the East Oakland area lies Fruitvale district, vibrant packed culinary culture few outsiders venture into due to stigma that comes with the reputation of Oakland but specifically east Oakland. Unless you're specifically looking for drugs or trouble, you're generally safe just like downtown Oakland.

What makes east Oakland different than downtown (uptown) Oakland is many of the transplant in downtown rarely ever venture to east Oakland. What many of these uptown transplant don't know is that in east Oakland...The food are popping, the people are kind, the colorful scenery and nonstop movement of the locals is what makes this area vibrant, beautiful and fun to interact with.
