Hey friends! Let’s get outside this Sunday for a moderate-to-difficult hike at Apex Park in Golden. We’ll be doing the main loop (~5.5 miles, ~1,200 ft gain). Expect it to take about 3 hours total, with a few short breaks and one longer stop to rest, snack, and enjoy the views.
📍 Meeting Point:
We’ll meet at the Apex Park Trailhead on the east side of the park (just a heads-up, don’t accidentally go to the west entrance!).
👉 Meet at 10:00 AM, and we’ll head out on the trail promptly at 10:15 AM.
🐶 Dogs: Leashed pups are welcome to join!
⏰ Start Time Flexibility: We’ll plan for Sunday morning, but if the weather looks iffy, we may shift the start time slightly.
What to Bring:
- Plenty of water (at least 2L recommended)
- Snacks or a light lunch for our longer break
- Sunscreen + sunglasses
- Hat
- Sturdy hiking shoes/boots
- Layers (Colorado weather can change fast)
- Trekking poles (optional but helpful with the elevation)
Tips & Details:
- Trails can get rocky and steep in sections, so plan for a solid workout.
- Cell service can be spotty, so it’s good to download the trail map ahead of time.
- Parking fills quickly on weekends. Carpool if you can, and allow a little extra time.
