What we’re about
MAKE Roanoke is a non-profit makerspace in Roanoke, VA. MAKE Roanoke is entirely led and run by volunteers. We are located at 128 Albemarle Ave SE, B, Roanoke VA 24013. We don't have standard open hours, but instead give our membership key fobs to access the space whenever suits them.
Mission Statement
MAKE Roanoke exists to promote knowledge, skill, and creativity in science, technology, crafts, and the arts. We strive to foster these values in an inclusive and safe environment. To these ends, MAKE Roanoke shall provide the following:
- An inclusive and collegial social framework for members to inspire and collaborate with others of similar interests;
- A maintained communal space providing safe access to tools and supplies for projects; and
- Events to promote education and collaboration between members and the greater Roanoke community.

MEMBERS (& Guests) ONLY: Community Craft Day
MAKE Roanoke, 128 Albemarle Ave SE, Roanoke, VA, USCome work on whatever project you want and enjoy the company of fellow MAKE Roanoke Members! Carve out some time to create for the sake of creating! From coloring to making hats to restoring machinery, this is a social night of crafting of all kinds for makers of all kinds!
Bring some dough to chip in for dinner if you want some!
This event runs from 4-8pm and is for MAKE Roanoke members and guests.
Please note that MAKE Roanoke is an active workshop:
- All participants must have a signed waiver on file. If the participant is a minor, the waiver must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Waivers can be filled out ahead of time here.
- Children who are not participating in the event are not permitted in the space.
- Closed toed shoes are required in the space at all times by everyone, regardless of age or participation in an event. No sandals, crocs, or bare feet.
- You may be asked to remove or tuck in dangling jewelry, lanyards, etc. for safety.
- Guests, and members not signed off on yellow/red tools, are only permitted to use green level tools, but feel free to bring your own tools to create something fun!

Intro to Hand Embroidery
MAKE Roanoke, 128 Albemarle Ave SE, Roanoke, VA, USCome learn how to embroidery by hand at MAKE Roanoke with this intro to Hand Embroidery class!
Students will learn 5 basic embroidery stitches and combine them into a floral motif:
- Running Stitch
- Back Stitch
- French Knot
- Lazy Daisy
- Pinwheel Rose
All the supplies needed to complete this stitch sampler are included!
This class is suitable for students of any skill level, especially complete beginners, and is recommended for ages 12 and up. (Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
The cost for this class is $25, and the cost for Full MAKE Roanoke Members is $15. MAKE Roanoke Members can also bring 1 guest at the discounted member rate! Learn more about MAKE Roanoke Membership here. Payment is taken at the door by PayPal, Cash, or Card (including tap-to-pay and Apple Pay).

Bite-Size Charity for MAKE Roanoke at Red Robin!
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, 4802 Valley View Boulevard Northwest, Roanoke, VA, USMAKE Roanoke is hosting a fundraiser at Red Robin's Valley View location on Thursday, November 13 from 11:00 AM-10 PM!
Simply show this flyer at checkout or follow these instructions for ordering online through the official Red Robin website or app:
- Start your order at redrobin.com/order and select the 4802 Valley View Blvd NW, Roanoke VA 24012 restaurant
- In the menu, go to the category labeled "Fundraisers (To-Go Only)" and click on that item
- Click the "add" button, and then "add to bag."
- Add your meal items and check out.
- Arrive at Red Robin and receive your food!
Red Robin will donate 20% of the proceeds to MAKE Roanoke!
