MEMBERS ONLY: Wood Shop Orientations

Trainings are expected to last about an hour and will start at the top of each hour. Please comment the time you will arrive so we can group people accordingly, we can only train 10 people at a time. The last orientation will start at 3:00 PM. The 2PM slot is now fully booked! Only the 3pm slot is available.

Completing this orientation will unlock the yellow level tools in the Wood Shop, including hand drills and hand sanders, and will cover shop policies and the dust collection system. You must complete this orientation before being trained on any red level tools (saws, bench tools, any hand power tool with a blade).

Please note that MAKE Roanoke is an active workshop:

• All participants must have a signed waiver on file. If the participant is a minor, the wavier must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Waivers can be filled out ahead of time at https://mkroa.org/waiver
• Closed toed shoes are required in the space at all times by everyone, regardless of age or participation in an event. No sandals, crocs, or bare feet.
• You may be asked to remove or tuck in dangling jewelry, lanyards, etc for safety.
• Depending on the activity, other dress code rules may apply.
