MEMBERS ONLY: Wood Shop CNC Router Training

This event is for Full MAKE Roanoke Members ONLY. You must have completed registration and General Orientation Find out more about MAKE Roanoke Membership here.

You must have already completed the Wood Shop Orientation.

This training is the first step in getting access to our Shapeoko 4XL CNC Router, the second half of training will be a one-on-one session scheduled individually when you have a part to make. You must complete both sessions in order to use the CNC Router independently.

This session will go over the software used to control the CNC Router, Carbide Create. Please bring a laptop with that software downloaded if you would like to follow along.

This orientation will go over basic workflow, but this online video series is a complete overview of the software and basics. Watching the video series is not a substitution for attending the orientation.

Please note that MAKE Roanoke is an active workshop:

• All participants must have a signed waiver on file. If the participant is a minor, the wavier must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Waivers can be filled out ahead of time at https://mkroa.org/waiver
• Closed toed shoes are required in the space at all times by everyone, regardless of age or participation in an event. No sandals, crocs, or bare feet.
• You may be asked to remove or tuck in dangling jewelry, lanyards, etc for safety.
• Depending on the activity, other dress code rules may apply.
