PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FOR PPE REQUIREMENTS
Come learn the basics of TIG Welding at MAKE Roanoke! Students will learn about:
- Safety and Terminology
- Basic Posture and Technique
- TIG Technique Demonstration and Practice
And they will practice Butt and Lap joints on practice plates.
This class is for ages 18 and up, and is suitable for people with no to minimal experience.
PPE Requirements (Supplied by the student)
- Closed Toe Boots
- Long Sleeve Jackets (FR, Denim, Leather, or Cotton) NO POLYESTER OR SYNTHETIC FIBERS
- Full Length Pants
- Safety Glasses
- Leather working gloves or gauntlets
Please note that MAKE Roanoke is an active workshop:
- All participants must have a signed waiver on file. If the participant is a minor, the wavier must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Waivers can be filled out ahead of time here.
- Closed toed shoes are required in the space at all times by everyone, regardless of age or participation in an event. No sandals, crocs, or bare feet.
- You may be asked to remove or tuck in dangling jewelry, lanyards, etc for safety.
- Depending on the activity, other dress code rules may apply.
