Family Friendly Repair Event at Maker Nexus with Fixit Clinic and Repair Cafe

This free family friendly event consists of neighbors helping neighbors learn basic troubleshooting skills and celebrate repair. It's a do-it-together community-based workshop staffed by volunteers from Maker Nexus, Fixit Clinic, and Repair Cafe. We provide access to the workspace, tools and expertise to consult with you on the disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of items.

So bring your broken, non-functioning things -- electronic gadgets, appliances, computers, toys, sewing machines, bicycles, fabric items, small leather goods, (no shoes) etc.-- for assessment and possible repair. Volunteers (and helpful neighbors) will be available for consultation on broken items. Whether you fix it or not, you'll learn more about how it was manufactured and how it worked, ready to share your new-found confidence and insight with your friends, neighbors, and the community at large. (Hopefully you’ll be inspired to become a Fixit Coach yourself.)

Come for the event, stay for the tours of this amazing expansive creative space! Maker Nexus has 28,000 sq. ft. of workspace filled with a huge variety of equipment and tools to make just about anything you can imagine.
