CNC - G-Code & Precix Fundamentals

This course requires completion of the CNC - Intro to Woodcarving (X-Carve) certification before enrolling. Registering for this listing enrolls you in both sessions of this two-session, 8-hour course for one price, $200 — the date attached for Session 1, with Session 2 scheduled individually with your instructor.

In the first session, you'll learn how to take your own custom Fusion 360 project from CAD all the way to G-code ready for the Precix CNC — preparing your model for manufacturing, creating components, arrangements, and envelopes, then programming your toolpaths and exporting your G-code. Come with a completed Fusion 360 model of your own, or pick one from our class files if you don't have one ready. Between sessions, you'll practice running your self-coded program on the X-Carve. In the second session, you'll demonstrate your competency and earn your full Precix CNC certification. Our instructor will guide you through the process step by step, tool by tool.

Additional Information
Attendees must have completed the CNC - Intro to Woodcarving (X-Carve) certification prior to this class, and must be at least 16 years and up. Class size is limited to 4 students. This registration covers both sessions of the course for $200 — Session 2 is not a separate purchase. Please bring your own laptop with Fusion 360 installed — computers are not provided for this class.

Please arrive on time, we will meet in the Make Salt Lake lobby then walk students to the workshop. Attendees who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be able to join the class.
