In this beginner friendly make and take class, you will learn the basics of using an oxy-acetylene torch for gas welding, and a plasma cutter for cutting sheet metal. Our instructor will walk you through the tools step by step as you make your very own garden trowel to take home. Along the way you will pick up practical metalworking skills that you can use to keep practicing on your own after the class. No experience needed - just come ready to learn!

Additional Information:
Attendees must be at least 16 years and up. Participants must wear long pants, long sleeves and closed-toe leather shoes. After the successful completion of this class, attendees will be given a certificate allowing them access to the Make Salt Lake Metal Shop and use of the oxy-acetylene torch and plasma cutter with a paid Make Salt Lake membership. Note that this class does not cover the use of the Forge or other welder types.
