This group is for members and visitors to Makespace, a community workshop in Cambridge, UK. The meetups are organised by community members both in the space and elsewhere in Cambridge.

👩‍💻 CoderDojo 👨‍💻

CoderDojo happens on the second Saturday of every month in the Makespace classroom.

This is a FREE coding club for young people, run by volunteers.

**IMPORTANT: This event page is just here to book the room out and inform Makespace members that it exists. Please ensure all Ninjas (that's the young people) have their place secured by registering them through the CODERDOJO PORTAL.**

Learn coding in 😺 Scratch, 🐍 Python and more! No experience is required - just bring your kids along so they can have some fun!

Make sure you bring:

💻 A laptop, if you have one. If you are struggling to source one then we can lend you one courtesy of the wonderful people at Makespace.

🔌 A charger (for the laptop!)

👩‍👦 A parent! (Very important). If your child is 12 or under, a parent or guardian must stay with them during the session.

Electronics is my hobby and my professional career for over a decade and now I would like to try teach electronics to others.

Session is held in Cambridge Makespace building - but you don`t need to be a member - you`ll be sign-in as a guest
This events is for beginners and for everyone who want to learn soldering , electronics or just need help this their projects

Makespace classroom, Cambridge
This is a in person event in the Makespace classroom, where we can work on projects, have access to the tools and equipment Makespace has to offer (some equipment is restricted to Makespace members), show off projects, chat about any issues with your build and get general advice about robotics.
Robot club is for beginners to pros, all you need is a love of robots. If you have a robot, please bring it along to work on or show.

Please Note: all children must be always accompanied by a responsible adult!

Makespace classroom, Cambridge
Looking forward to your Makespace membership induction, Saturday at 2pm.

There are a few steps you can take to make the most of the induction.
1) Make your payment on the morning of your induction. Click here to set up the monthly payments:

Memberships are an initial 3 month minimum.
2) Have 2 forms of ID ready to bring with you. Screen shots are fine for the proof of address.
3) Start filling in your membership form by visiting here:
https://web.makespace.org/induction-form/ and clicking on the link to the induction form.
The form will ask for your name/address and to read the membership agreements. Please, complete that form until you reach a point where it tells you to stop and wait for the inductor.
4) Arrive before 2pm at Makespace. At the door, you will be asked if you have completed the above steps.
You will reopen the induction form you started at home. When you log in with the same information all your data will be there.
The inductor will check your ID. Then there will be:

A short talk about how Makespace works (you can preview the presentation here)

An introduction to the equipment and training system. (have a look: https://equipment.makespace.org)

A safety tour of the workshops.

We will ask you to subscribe to the cammakespace Google Group (https://groups.google.com/g/cammakespace) for announcements and discussions.

Lastly you will be given your membership number so you can access training.

Our aim is to have all the administration finished by 3:15 at which time you can join the other members in the workshops or start the online portion of your equipment training.

PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE LATE. We will not admit after 2PM
