Makespace is proud to be participating in this year's Cambridge Open Studios, an engaging and exciting event for all art lovers and enthusiasts.
Members will be exhibiting a wide array of work, including:
- Illustration
- Prints
- Sculpture
- Photography
- Woodwork & Furniture
- Jewellery
- Craft
When is the event?
We will be participating for the first two weekends of the event, open from 10am to 5pm daily
- July 1st & 2nd
- July 8th and 9th
This is a free event where everyone is welcome to come and appreciate the diversity of art showcased. (no need to RSVP)
Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed at a sign-in table where Makespace members will be available to guide you through the space, introducing you to the variety of art projects on display as well as the facilities that make space has to offer.
What is Makespace?
Makespace is a community workshop in the heart of Cambridge, embodying a simple yet powerful ethos: Meet, learn, build, play. A hub where creativity meets innovation, this space is the birthplace of unique ideas and projects. Here, you can meet a diverse group of thinkers, makers, and doers, all bonded by a shared passion for creation. Learn new skills, build your dreams into reality, and play with ideas in a supportive, collaborative environment. With a wealth of tools and resources at your disposal, exploration and learning are always encouraged. Equipment ranges from sewing machines and crafting tools to 3D printers, laser cutters to CNC routers, microscopes to woodworking.
The space and equipment are available 24/7 to paying members, and runs based on all the amazing volunteer effort these members put in!
Is there parking?
Unfortunately there is no on-site parking. We recommend using the Park and Rides, which are a short five-minute walk from Makespace.
Off-road parking is available at the Graduate Hotel at £3 per hour. For on-street parking, Sedgwick Avenue and nearby side streets are good options, with more spots available along Queen's Road.
The Grand Arcade car park is another option, but a four-hour stay will cost you over £14!
