Pre Planning meeting for Makespace@EMF2026

(This meeting is only open to current Makespace members and their chosen guests.)

Makespace was at EMF 2024, God and/or Jonty willing, we'll be at EMF 2026.

Last year

• Rob B operated a demonstration of Bambu 3D printers
• Brian C took and ran his Zombie Attack game
• Rob K was more or less Rob K (Built a chunk of null-sector.)
• Rob R made some lights flash and drove a carload of stuff to a food distributor

This is a meeting to discuss

• What worked (or didn't) last year
• What we might take along next year
• How we might add to EMF
• What we might need

This meeting will involve a round-table discussion to gather feedback from the last event, an opportunity to present ideas for the next event, and a discussion of when the next meeting should be.

Proposal format:
If you've got any ideas that you'd like to exchange please bring them as a sheet of A3: We'll arrange these around the room for people to explore.
Each sheet should include:

• Working title of the idea
• Type of the idea (Installation, Activity, Night-market item, Service for others)
• The concept
• What you want (Opinions, Ideas, Practical help, possibly nothing.)
• How committed you are
• Notes from work so far

For example:

• Title: "Charter a coach to EMF"
• Type: A service for other attendees
• Concept: there are dozens of attendees from Cambridge, chartering coaches might be cost and carbon effective.
• What I want: someone else to do it.
• How committed am I?: 2/10, I'm not sold on there being the demand for it, and there are problems.
• Notes from work so far: quotes obtained indicate that a charter coach would be half the cost of rail travel, I'll write more notes on the real sheet!

• Title: "home made snacks for EMF Movies"
• Concept: huge scale home-bake of snacks for people watching the movies
• What I want: opinions, help, maybe an intervention.
• How committed I am: 11/10, If we can do this, I want to do it!
• Notes so far: I've pinged the county council about food prep regs, and there's nothing to worry about, I pinged EMF Movies last year and didn't hear anything back.

The exchange isn't just about getting your own ideas done, it's about inspiring other people.
