(This event is for Makespace members and their guests)

For this edition of the lino printing meet-up we'd like to try some new techniques together, starting with reduction printing. This method involves carving a simple design into a lino block and pulling prints, followed by further carving of the same block and overlaying a second print in a darker colour. This is a simple and effective way to start printing with multiple colours! See the pictures below or watch this video for a better idea: https://youtu.be/vEo33esED5I?si=jGp_hed1WddOvyp0

This informal gathering for all experience levels. Whether you’re completely new to printmaking or are already an expert, you’re welcome. The session will be guided by members with printmaking experience, but there is plenty of space to experiment, share tips, and learn from each other.

Important: Please arrive on time so that we can run through a tutorial together, and to make sure there is time for ink to dry between rounds of printing.

Just want to do normal linocut? You're welcome to come along to the meet-up and do your own thing! Just to note that less guidance may be available for newbies during this session.

What to expect
• Intro to basic lino cutting and printing
