Wood Turn & Teach

A trial type of event that came out of the Turn & Talk series to bring the MakeSpace Woodturning community closer together, be you new to the craft or an experienced turner.

Inspired by the number of wonderful clubs that have recently been established, this will be more of a hands-on event. The idea is to utilise the 2 lathes to work on your projects, while I'm available in/near the Woodshop (probably doing some assembly) for questions and advice on technique & process.

Bring your current or recent work, bring your questions and ideas. Because there are (only) two lathes, maybe aim for something you can work on for an hour, so others get a chance too, if there is high demand.

I will bring demo pieces on the process of making spheres, if people are interested, and of course I'll be on hand to answer questions while the lathes are occupied, but hopefully everyone will get a go to solidify their techniques and get feedback, if helpful.

Note: You'll need to be a signed-off member to work on the lathe, but everyone is welcome to come chat and get inspired.
