This is our monthly in-person, informal meetup @ makespace for anyone interested in bio and tech, with refreshments and pizza provided by Aromi.

This month, we're bringing the potential of synthetic biology to the forefront with the Cambridge iGEM team

Are you curious to hear what synthetic biology/biological engineering is and get a glimpse into the possibilities of synthetic biology to address real world challenges?

iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine competition) is a global competition where brilliant minds from all corners of the world tackle real-world problems using synthetic biology.

The iGEM team will give a brief introduction to synthetic biology as well as share details of their project to address harmful microbial biofilms by creating protective biofilms to outcompete pathogenic and corrosive microbes. "

Join the Biology Club email group for updates and discussions: https://biology-club.makespace.org/

Thanks to the University of Cambridge Engineering Biology Interdisciplinary Research Centre for supporting!

Hope to see you there,

Katia and Richard
