About us

Remember when making friends was as easy as sitting next to someone at lunch, sharing your crayons, or asking if they wanted to play at recess?

Yeah… apparently adulthood doesn’t work like that.

Somewhere between graduating, starting careers, moving to new cities, and trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, making new friends became weirdly difficult.

So let’s make it easy again.

Welcome to Making Friends Was Easier in Kindergarten, a Pittsburgh-area social group for young adults ages 18-35 who want to meet new people, make genuine friendships, and actually have plans on the weekend.

We’re keeping things simple and low-pressure. Think:

  • Coffee shops and casual conversations
  • Dinner with new friends
  • Board games and trivia
  • Walks, ice cream, and laid-back outings
  • The occasional spontaneous adventure

No awkward networking events. No pressure to impress anybody. No need to bring a friend to make a friend.

Come by yourself. Seriously, that’s kind of the point.

Whether you’re new to Pittsburgh, your college friends moved away, or you’ve simply realized that making friends as an adult is unnecessarily complicated, you’re welcome here.

The only requirement? Be kind, be yourself, and remember that everybody was the new kid once.

Because making friends shouldn’t have peaked in kindergarten.
