In this even we will explore the Danish island of Bornholm.
General Plan
Once we arrive in Rönne we will proceed with exploring the city. Among other things we will visit the famous Pottery museum Hjorts fabrik: https://bornholmsmuseum.dk/en/visit/hjorths-fabrik/
After visiting the city we will take break to eat. Once we have eaten we will rent bikes to continue our trip to the north of the island. A bike costs 100 DKK for a simple one. If you want an electric it is 200 DKK minimum. You can check the details here: https://borcy.dk/collections/klassiske-cykler . There should quite a few bikes available at arrival. However, it will save you some time if you book online a day or two in advance. That way, they can have the bikes ready for you, and you won’t need to spend time entering contact details, making payment, etc. Cancellations are free up to 72 hrs before pickup. After that, the amount is non-refundable.
Once we have eaten and retrieved the bike we will go and visit the following places:
- Hammershus
- Opalsö
- Allinge-Sandvik
- Döndalen
- Gudhjem (if time permits)
- Sankt Ols church (if time permits)There is a zipline in Opalsö (https://visitbornholm.com/en/bornholm/activities/zipline-on-bornholm) but you need cash. If you really want to do it, remember to retrieve a bit of it beforehand.
Traveling
We will meet in Ystad before going on the ferry. Due to limited amount of ferries, we will take the ferry at 8:30 am. You can book the ticket on site or online (https://www.bornholmslinjen.com/booking/summary). It costs around 600 SEK for a return ticket. If this is too early for you, you can take the ferry at 10.30 and skip the Rönne part of the trip and join us later for our exploration of the rest of the island.
In case you are coming later with the ferry at 10.30, we will inform you either in our Whatsapp group (Link to Whatsapp group) or in this Meetup event page about where and when we will meet in Rönne to continue the exploration.
For those coming to Ystad with car there should be long time parking options available close to the ferry terminal. You can check the alternatives here: Ystad car parking map
For the return trip we will take the 20:30 ferry (which is the last ferry) back to Ystad. If this is too late for you, there is an earlier ferry at 18:30.
Important to note:
Even if you can book the ticket on site the same day, its highly recommended to book it online in advance as the ferry can otherwise get full. You have the possibility to switch to either an earlier or a later departure time depending on availability, additional charge may be added when changing from original departure time.

Come and join for a spectacular outdoors classic car show at Borgeby, in Bjärred.
This car show is considered one of the biggest ones in the whole region of Skåne, where we can enjoy a lot of old school cars from all around the world all the way from the beginning of the 1900 and until 1990/2000. There will be a huge range of car models like the classical VW Beetle, Trabant, Citroen 2CV, Mercedes-Benz S-class and many more models.
For the ones that feel thirsty of hungry there will be a restaurant nearby that will serve cold and warm drinks and offer different sorts of food.
Transportation
For transportation there are many alternatives like the yellow regional buses nr 134 from Malmö, nr 126 from Lund C and nr 132 from Lomma station. All of these buses will stop at the bus stop called "Borgeby Slottsvägen". Once you arrive there its just a matter of a walking distance to get to the car event spot. If you come by car, there is a big car parking space close to the venue, which is free as well.
