ManageOps is a new regular event aimed at people working in tech leadership, whether as an Engineering Manager, technical lead or any other role involving leadership, development and support of others.

For this first event, we want to hear from you – we'll spend some time finding out what this group is interested in discussing. Do you need guidance on hiring strategies, managing 1:1s, implementing complex policies like on-call or other leadership challenges? Would you like to hear from your peers in the West Midlands about how their organisations are responding to the remote/in-office debate? Let us know.

We'll also feature an informal talk by a technical leader from our community, with space for Q&A and discussion afterwards. Finally, we'll wrap up with a roundtable chat about a hot topic of the month – help us decide what this should be on the night.

ManageOps is generously supported by TechMids, who help us promote and organise the event, and Substrakt, who kindly provide food and drinks during the event – we’re also very grateful to the team at the Jointworks for providing their lovely venue to host us.

ManageOps is still getting started and we want it to be shaped by you, its attendees – come along and help define what a meetup for technical leaders (or those aspiring to this role) should be. Excited to see you there!
