ManageOps - 5th March 2024

We're excited to be back for the first spring time ManageOps! This month we will have a talk from Max Woolf. Max is a Staff Backend Engineer at GitLab and will be speaking on "Managing a Remote Team - Stories from the WFH front line"

"From the outside being a remote Engineering Manager could seem more difficult than managing a co-located team." Max said when talking to him about this talk. "In this talk, I'll walk you through both why that doesn't have to be true, and I'll give some things you can do straight away to be a better remote manager of ICs like me."

We will also have our round table (so come prepared with questions to ask) with food and drink. It's always a great night, where everyone goes away with some nugget to think about or implement.

This event is aimed at people working in tech leadership, whether as an Engineering Manager, technical lead or any other role involving leadership, development and support of others. We'll have a talk from a community tech leader, with space for Q&A and discussion afterwards.After the main speaker, we'll have more space with a roundtable chat about a hot topic of the month – help us decide what this should be on the night.
