When rock singer Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) is kidnapped by Raven (Willem Dafoe) and his biker gang her former lover, soldier-for-hire Tom Cody (Michael Paré), is hired to bring her back. What follows is a trawl through the city’s nightmarish underbelly, alongside Ellen's manager Billy Fish (Rick Moranis) and former soldier McCoy (WEAPONS’ Amy Madigan), that includes rock numbers, bike chases and sledgehammer duels.

Co-written and directed by Walter Hill, STREETS OF FIRE feels like a fusion between Hill's earlier film THE WARRIORS (1979) and the rock musical PURPLE RAIN (1984). The film's soundtrack features contributions from Jimmy Lovine, Jim Steinman, and the late Dan Hartman ('I Can Dream About You' is the standout track). A massive bomb on original release, Streets of Fire is a lost film that deserves reappraisal for it's bold, hyperkinetic energy if nothing else. You will have to book your own ticket.
