About us
The Data Intelligence Network is a welcoming and growing community hosted by award-winning Brighton-based R, Python and Shiny experts, Datacove, with meetups across six UK cities in Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, London, Birmingham, and Portsmouth.
Our events are built around networking, community, and connection, bringing people together to meet peers, share stories, and build meaningful relationships. Alongside this, we provide opportunities to learn through talks, hands-on sessions, and open knowledge sharing in a friendly, inclusive environment. Whether you’re new to data or experienced, there’s always something to discover.
At the heart of our community is the EARL Data Intelligence Conference, our annual event that brings together a global audience. With 200+ attendees across 3 days, expert-led workshops, inspiring talks, and an unforgettable evening social, EARL is where the wider network comes together to learn, collaborate, and celebrate data. Find out more here.
We welcome all technologies and backgrounds, including R, Python, SQL, Rust, BI stacks, modern AI tooling, and beyond. Our focus is on sharing knowledge, solving real-world problems, and supporting each other’s growth in data and analytics. We also encourage non-technical talks, from career journeys to project storytelling.

Property-Based Testing with Hedgehog
We will be joined by Mark Webster, Pricing Analyst at PaymentshieldMark will introduce property-based testing using Hedgehog, an alternative to traditional unit testing that focuses on defining general behaviours and invariants rather than individual test cases. By automatically generating large ranges of inputs, property-based testing can quickly uncover obscure edge cases and hidden bugs that are difficult to find with conventional approaches. The talk will explore the core ideas behind the methodology, practical examples, and how it can improve confidence when testing complex systems.
