About us
Welcome to the Manchester LGBTQIA+ 50+ Meetup and Event Listings group!
This group is for gay seniors aged 50 and older who are looking for a welcoming and inclusive space to connect with others in the community. Whether it's over coffee, engaging in indoor or outdoor activities, or simply coming together to socialise, this group is for anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ and everything in between.
Join us for a variety of events and Meetups where you can build new friendships, share experiences, reduce social isolation and have a great time!
On sign-up you will be asked to answer the following question: This group is specifically aimed at the older (50+) LGBT Community, please confirm that you understand this on joining.
If you are younger than 50 you are, of course, welcome to join.
NB Events will free to attend. The (discounted) cost to run a Meetup group for six months is £134.39. I will happily take contributions towards the cost of the running for the group and be transparent about any donations received.

With warmth and humour, Elizabeth Lovatt uses an archive of log books to reimagine the women who both called and volunteered for the Lesbian Line in the 1990s while also tracing her own journey - from accidentally coming out to disastrous dates to finding her chosen family. This book is widely available in hardback, audiobook and eBook versions. A paperback edition will be released on 12th February 2026.
Please note the reading for this session contains mentions of homophobia and transphobia, hate crimes, domestic violence and abuse. If you would like to discuss any of the content before reading please get in touch.
