For those that don't know Monica, she is one of Americas biggest LGB+ activists, expat/immigrant New Yorker living in Manchester.

She teaches literature and film and queer studies at the University of Manchester
She is also committed to public engagement, including Intros, In Conversations, and running her famous Queer Salon, a gathering to discuss provocative queer questions
She is a veteran of ACT UP/New York.

Natalie will be discussing her debut novel, Waiting For A Friend, set amidst the AIDs crisis in 1980s New York. Natalie will be in conversation with Dr Monica Pearl, senior lecturer and veteran of ACT UP New York.
