About us
MWUG, the Manchester WordPress User Group is run by the WordPress co-founder, Mike Little with support from group members.
We are a friendly, supportive bunch from in and around Manchester, UK, who use the open source web publishing software WordPress to blog, design and develop websites. We love sharing technical and marketing expertise to help others achieve what they intend through WordPress.
We run as a collective, with various events from co-working, discussions, picnic in the park to talk sessions. We actively encourage members to reach out, propose and/ or help organise events.
We welcome all interest whether you are a keen programmer, entrepreneur or hobby blogger wanting to maximise the potential of your WordPress blog.

WordPress Community In-Person Co-Working & Free Headshots - May 2026
Foundation Coffee House, 48-50 Whitworth Street, Manchester, GBThe MWUG co-working & WordPress event in Locke Coffee Club on Whitworth Street!
On the 29th of May, we're going to go to the Locke Coffee Club (formally Foundation Coffee) for co-working with fellow WordPress developers, freelancers and the wider community. Whilst we are a WordPress meetup, we welcome all co-workers to those who want to get out for the day and meet the Manchester (and wider afield) digital scenes.
This month we have something special - one of our members who offers Business Photography will bring his camera equipment. So if you want a fresh new look for your website come along for a free headshot!
Registration is free and we will park ourselves in the co-working area towards the back of Locke Coffee Club (if you walk in from Whitworth Street we're past the coffee bar and to the left, alternatively you can cut through the hotel). Some of us will be there all day, but feel free to come and go as you please.
Again, attendance is free, but it helps to know how big an area is to grab so if you could RSVP that would be great ๐
How to Get There
We'd recommend public transport to get there, it's a short walk from St. Peter's Square tram stop, Oxford Road railway stop and there's a number of bus routes nearby (the Bee Network!). However if you were to park somewhere, here are some car parks previous guests use:-2 attendees
