Hey everyone! Some of you might remember our friends at WoKai where we had an interesting meetup / documentary viewing a few months ago. Well, they've invited us to come to their 2011 Wokai Holiday Celebration, co-sponsored by Cathay Pacific, this coming Tuesday, December 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Casey Wilson, Wokai's co-founder and CEO, will be the featured speaker for the night.

Date: Tues., December 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Venue: Give2Asia - 465 California Street, 8th Floor Haydn-Williams Conference Room; San Francisco Tickets: Available in limited quantities for $10 during pre-sale period and $20 at the door. They can be purchased here:http://wokaisfholiday-wacmandarin.eventbrite.com (http://wokaisfholiday-wacmandarin.eventbrite.com/) Casey will be there to give an overview of the state of microfinance in China, what it means to be a non-profit in China, and Wokai’s impact on the ground. The evening will also showcase of some of the work from Wokai’s global photo exhibit – an intimate look at the lives of families Wokai directly impacts on a daily basis – as well as provide an opportunity to network with those in the Bay area with a shared interest in microfinance and China. Apologies for the late(ish) notice, I hope some people can make it out. I myself might have a scheduling conflict, so if I'm not there, make yourself at home and speak some Mandarin! -Adam
