Let us celebrate the holidays by giving and receiving a GOOD book from someone. Wrap up ONE book you've read that you liked or you think other people will like. It can be used or bought new. If it's used, keep in mind that this is a GIFT, so please make sure it is in excellent condition.

The motivation for this is to read a book, a good one, that I normally would not have picked out for myself. Hence, I'm depending on my fellow readers and the Holiday Spirits to land me on something that will OPEN my world (of books).

Location, date, and time are all subject to change. Please offer suggestions for a cozier location that allows noise. Also, if less than 6 attendees, I will cancel.

Here are the RULES:

1. Choose ONE book you've read that you believe someone will actually like. Or one you like! Make this the White Elephant Gift.

I think this is already implied. But please don't wrap an Instructional book like cook books, crafting, travel books, gardening, encyclopedias, maps, etc.

2. Book must be in EXCELLENT condition. It can be new or used. But treat it like a special gift for someone. Don't be a grinch! Or scrooge.

3. Book must be at least 100 pages. Short books are great. I just don't want anyone feeling like they lost out on page count.

4. Wrap the ONE (and only one) book, so nobody can tell what it is. You're welcome to bring more books to give/swap after the game, but choose only one for the White Elephant.

White Elephant Rules:

5. We'll draw numbers. Person with the lowest number goes first and picks out a gift from White Elephant pile.

6. Once this book is unwrapped, the owner of the book will give a short introduction of the book.

7. Two chances to steal on the same book. This way, the person who picked the book first has a chance to steal it back.

There is a chance that some of us might end up with a book we've already read lol. It's not a perfect system. Hence, bring more books to give/swap, if you want. But for the White Elephant, let's just have one per person to keep it diverse.

If you're bored: How many times did I use the word "book" in this description? LOL
