Event Photography on Education Night
Welcome to everyone who would like to successfully photograph an event. Think about it, our lives are full of events, large and small. Whether shooting a wedding, a reunion, Carnaval, or a family backyard BBQ; at some time or another we all photograph events. And like any other photographic genre, there are specific skills and techniques that event photographers employ to successfully capture an event, create interest, and satisfy or even exceed expectations. For our August 13 Education Night we are pleased to have Steve Disenhof to pass on his considerable skills and experience with this special kind of photography. Steve has been photographing events for almost two decades. Leveraging both his practical experience and his own course learning, he will take us through an enlightening presentation on the A-Z’s of event photography. He’ll cover a wide range of subjects, including preparation, shooting settings and techniques, and methods for quickly working through the inevitable hundreds of images in post-processing. Steve is currently co-President of the MPC Club. He has been a photographer for the United States Press Agency for the past seven years and has covered Marin and Pac 12 sports for most of the past 20 years. He is one of the original and active members of, covering a score of Bay Area public, non-profit events since 2016 – and led this presentation to that group earlier this summer. As always we will meet the second Monday, August 13, at 6:30 in the Community Room at the Corte Madera Town Center on the south end of he center. Enter the building at 770 across from Philz Coffee and take the elevator to the second floor. Bring a notebook and join us for what will be a very educational evening. What we're about

This meetup group has been created to allow the members of the main organization of the Marin Photography Club ( to have access to our upcoming field trips and other photography events. The Meetup events are also accessible to the public, unless otherwise noted.

Please join and RSVP to attend any of the field trips. Joining the Meetup group will allow you to get all the information you need regarding the event, and post photographs at end of event.

Who we are: The Marin Photo Club Meetup was created to allow us a way of informing our members of upcoming Events, so we may plan our trips in a way which supports our members.

It is a place for us to share our event photos and our comments in a positive learning environment outside our normal scheduled competitions.

We are a group of passionate photographers interested in learning and sharing techniques, knowledge and friendship among our members. We create opportunities to extend our formal and informal portfolios, have competitions on different levels and form special interest groups to learn more about different topics of photography.
