At Marmaray Meetups you find us chatting mainly in English, playing fun games and exploring the city of Istanbul. Many of us will have side conversations in other languages: Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic, Persian, Russian, Ukranian, and much more. It's a chance to meet new people, connect, and have fun. We try to make our events along the line of Marmaray for easy access for everyone in Istanbul.

If you’ve been thinking “I really want to speak more English but I don’t know where to start…”, this is your space.
Sarvy and I are hosting a small, cozy language exchange evening where we just… talk. No pressure and no fear of making mistakes.
We’ll be there guiding the flow with ready-made questions, little conversation games, and topics that actually make you want to speak, not just answer.
It’s going to be: relaxed, a bit playful, sometimes deep, sometimes funny and hopefully friendly! :)
You don’t need perfect English. You just need a little curiosity and willingness to try.
Some people come shy and quiet… and leave realizing they spoke more than they expected. That’s kind of my favorite part.
So if you feel like meeting new people, expressing yourself, and enjoying the process (not just “learning”), come join us!

Our beautiful venue Atölye Aposkal is going to be a cozy cafe 5 minutes away from Umraniye metro station run by a tasteful lady who bakes amazing gluten-free pastry!
With or without gluten, life is too short not to find new friends! Come... :)
