The Maryland Tenants’ Bill of Rights is a summary of key protections renters have under federal and state law. Beginning July 1, 2025, all residential landlords in Maryland are required to provide tenants with a copy of the most recent version of this document, as published by the Department of Housing and Community Development. It must be included with every lease.
