About us
This group meets monthly to discuss subjects of import to humanity. From philosophy and religion to science, history, and politics, this study center presents, discusses and debates a variety of subjects in the hope of gaining a better understanding of ourselves and the universe around us. By meeting and discussing important ideas and issues, we grow in understanding, tolerance, and wisdom.
The Masonic Philosophical Society was created by Universal Freemasonry to promote the eradication of ignorance in all its forms. Any person who is a freethinker, tolerant and open, and who seeks rational discourse is invited to attend and learn more about oneself, the world, the universe, and Freemasonry.
Free and open to the public. All sincere seekers welcome — no prior knowledge of Freemasonry or esoteric traditions required, only a genuine love of ideas.
This is the first gathering of an ongoing series.
Mission Statement
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment, where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and to share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.

What Is the Purpose of Freemasonry?
Anthroposophical Society in Hawaiʻi, 2514 Alaula Way, Honolulu, HI 96822, Honolulu, HI, USNovember's topic will be conducted by Bro. Nathan Hardy on Tuesday, November 10th, from 6:00–7:30 PM, as he asks the question, “What Is the Purpose of Freemasonry?”
From the Ancient Mysteries to the New Jerusalem
Hosted by the Masonic Philosophical Society Hawaiʻi
Universal Co-Masonry — Freemasonry for Men & WomenSynopsis:
What if the true purpose of Freemasonry was never simply to make good people better, but to transform humanity itself?
For thousands of years, the ancient mystery traditions have explored the deepest questions of human existence through initiation, sacred symbolism, and the pursuit of wisdom and spiritual transformation. Freemasonry understands itself as an inheritor of this ancient philosophical and spiritual legacy. But to what end? Is its purpose merely to preserve timeless wisdom, or to actively participate in the renewal of civilization? At the heart of this exploration lies one of esoteric Freemasonry's most extraordinary visions: the building of the New Jerusalem—a symbolic ideal of humanity united in truth, justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
In this meeting of the Masonic Philosophical Society, we will explore the relationship between initiation and transformation, spirituality and civilization, and the ancient aspiration to build a better world. Can we transform society without transforming ourselves? If Freemasonry’s purpose is to serve all humanity, who is called to undertake its Great Work? And what is Freemasonry ultimately trying to build?
